Dr. Javad Parvizi along with his coeditors; James Cashman, MD, Nitin Goyal, MD, Matthew Morrey, MD, and Camilo Restrepo, MD, have done a phenomenal job in compiling these two volumes on surgery of the knee - The Knee: Reconstruction, Replacement, and Revision. They collaborated with some of the finest names from around the world in orthopaedics, including professors, teachers, practicing orthopaedic surgeons, basic scientists, and engineers, who have expertise in various aspects of material science anatomy, disorder of the knee and total knee surgery. Each of the contributors, many of whom have published original work in their field of interest, presents their material in a very organized and descriptive manner with appropriate references based on levels 1-5 evidence. It is worthy of note that the knowledge presented on basic science surgical indications and the outcome of primary and revision total knee, dealing with various types of clinical disorders, is very comprehensive. I recommend this book for undergraduates, postgraduates and for practicing orthopaedic surgeons. I compliment Dr. Parvizi and his team for a job well done.
